Woodside supports local businesses

Woodside is always looking for opportunities to support local businesses to deliver services. It’s another way we can give back to the communities where we operate.

Recently, we partnered with Cedrent Enterprises - a majority owned Aboriginal company which owns the franchise rights for Enterprise Rent-A-Car, adding them to our list of preferred car rental suppliers.

The company has a service desk at the Karratha Airport and offer up to 600 passenger, commercial and mine spec vehicles.

“When a company like Woodside shows this amount of trust and support to First Nations businesses, it helps the whole First Nations business sector gain momentum,” said Dan Walmsley the General Manager at Cedrent.

“It’s fantastic that we’re contracting local businesses to ensure the Karratha community directly benefits from our operations,” said Julie Attwood, Woodside Local Content Manager.

Another local business Woodside has recently engaged is Karratha Eyecare.

After consultation with our HSE representatives and our Woodside HSE team, Karratha Eyecare is now an approved Woodside eye care provider.

By engaging a local, trusted business, our residents can now visit their community optometrist to collect their prescription safety glasses.

“This partnership with Woodside is also about how we can improve the overall serviceability, education and understanding of eye care in the Pilbara for those who choose to call Karratha home,” said Alex Craig, Director Karratha Eyecare.

“It’s great to have local regional businesses, such as Karratha Eyecare, as providers for proactive eyecare and prescription safety glasses. It allows for increased access to eyecare for our workforce and continuity of care between work and non-work-related optometry,” said Suzanne Hartland, Woodside Health & Safety Representative.
