Trinidad and Tobago Local Buying Program 

Woodside Energy Trinidad and Tobago has operations in the vicinity of the North and South East Coast of Trinidad and the island of Tobago. We consider these communities our Host Communities and are the main focus of Woodside Energy Trinidad and Tobago’s Local Buying Program.

 

As part of Woodside Energy's ongoing commitment to Trinidad and Tobago, a Local Buying Program has been established to target procurement with small local businesses. Woodside recognizes that small local businesses face different challenges when compared to medium and large sized businesses. This program is designed to support commercial activity with small businesses by creating a simplified procurement channel, as well as to facilitate opportunities for the development of business capability and capacity where needed. 

 Where We Operate 

 Woodside Trinidad and Tobago has operations near the North and Southeast Coast of Trinidad and the island of Tobago.  These areas of operations are considered Host Communities.   

 While Host Communities are the focus of the Woodside Energy Trinidad and Tobago Local Buying Program, the invitation to participate is extended to all of Trinidad and Tobago. The benefits of participating in the Local Buying Program is the support of a team that will assist you in the process of doing business with Woodside  

 Who Can Participate? 

Companies must meet the following mandatory qualification criteria before being evaluated and approved by Woodside as a potential Local Buying Program provider. Criteria include:  

  • Legal entities must be registered within the Registrar General Companies of Trinidad and 
  • Tobago 
  • Annual turnover for the previously completed financial year is less than $5 TTD million 
  • Full Time employees is less than 25 persons  

What Are the Categories? 

The Local Buying Program covers a wide and diverse range of products and services.  Any Purchase  Order may be issued through the program, provided:  

  • its value is less than $35,000 TTD for Goods / Materials 
  • Its value is less than $335,000 TTD for Services 
  • its scope is not covered under an existing contract 
  • goods and services are considered low risk / low value 

To Register  

Small businesses that meet the application criteria can register to participate in the Local Buying  Program.  Enrolments are evaluated individually according to the application criteria defined for the  program.

We never ask prospective suppliers for upfront fees. If your business receives a request for upfront payment from someone claiming to represent Woodside, please report the matter to your local law enforcement agency, and let us know through our Contact page. We are working with authorities to identify Advance Fee Fraud Scams and limit their impact.
