Woodside Community Grants – City of Karratha
In 2020 Woodside launched a new community grants program in the City of Karratha. It’s part of our commitment to building local capacity and development opportunities for community wellbeing.
Woodside’s community grants program is open twice a year - in March and October. Clubs and organisations with a great idea or in need of some extra support are encouraged to apply.
As part of the first round in March, local sporting clubs and community groups were among 14 organisations in the City of Karratha to receive funding under our new program.
Yirramagardu Community Association used its grant to purchase outdoor furniture for Val and Kath’s Crafty Kitchen. This seating will create a place for people to come together to support each other, participate in activities such as craft, prepare and eat healthy food, grow vegetables and access emergency supplies.
Woodside Karratha Corporate Affairs Manager Kate Gauntlett said sporting clubs and not-for-profit organisations played a vital role in maintaining the health and wellbeing of the local community.
“We are really pleased to be able to support the ongoing development of these organisations and their important role in our community through the Woodside community grants,” she said.
The second round of grants closes on 31 October 2020. Grants of up to $5000 are available to support community initiatives.
