In just 90 minutes, a team of 50 Woodside and contractor volunteers, collected 130 bags of rubbish along a stretch of the Burrup Road leading to our site facilities near Karratha in the Pilbara. Litter included coffee cups, PPE and wrappers and packaging material.
The clean up crew included teams from Programmed Training Services, Monadelphous, Vertech, Kinetic IT and Envoy Group.
It was a fantastic effort by everyone involved and a good reminder to secure your carload, no matter where you are.
The roadside clean up event is part of the Industrial Communities Against Rubbishing our Environment (iCARE) partnership. iCARE tackles roadside litter along stretches of roads where workers commute to and from facilities.
The clean ups help prevent rubbish from impacting local fauna, flora and heritage, and stop it spreading into neighbouring Murujuga National Park.
